A trip to Vietnam and a basic point-and-shoot digital camera were the elements that started Benn's photography journey over twenty years ago.
Since then, Benn has focused on landscapes and architecture of the far-flung corners of the globe and getting very close to having visited 100 countries. Citing Bukhara in Uzbekistan, Parque Nacional Torres del Paine in Chile, the Empty Quarter in Oman, and the ancient city of Matera in Italy as some of his favourite and most inspirational locations.
Thematically, Benn indulges in the cold, the dystopic, the bleak, the corroded and the empty.
Over the years, he has been published by the likes of Lonely Planet, Traveller and in numerous art books and even record sleeve artwork.
Whilst still life has been the focus, there have been moments of reportage covering events such as the Arab Spring protests in Paris; Pride marches in Australia and the UK over the years.
Benn is based in London, UK.
